International passengers made to wait for two hours for bags
Passengers arriving at Chennai airport’s international terminal are experiencing long delays at the baggage claim point. Many travelers, especially senior citizens, are forced to wait for one to two hours for their bags, with limited seating available. Despite the construction of a new terminal, the passenger experience has not improved. Bags are also being delayed for flights that are handled in a remote bay away from the terminal, and customs scrutiny of bags from certain destinations is slowing down the process. The airport authorities deny any undue delay in handling bags.
