Noida: The chief manager of GNIDA’s sewer department, Jitendra Gautam, imposed a fine of Rs 10 lakh on a private firm, HNB Infra, a company in charge of the sewage treatment plant (STP) in Kasna.
The penalty was levied after it was found in an inspection on Thursday that the firm did not maintain cleanliness and manage the sludge at the plant as per guidelines.A week has been granted to rectify the shortcomings.
The STP in Kasna, which has a capacity of 137 MLD, faces a total penalty of Rs 4 lakh for road damage and lack of cleanliness. Additionally, the water department was also fined Rs 5 lakh for technical faults at the Kasna STP. TNN

The company has requested a waiver of the fine and explained that the power to appoint directors vests with the President of India. The matter has been taken up with the Ministry of Power to fill the vacant posts of Independent Directors.

Khan Study Group fined by Central Consumer Protection Authority for misleading claims in advertisements and unfair trade practices. The coaching institute had claimed that top five rank-holders in UPSC exams took classes at KSG. CCPA cracked down on misleading advertisements by major IAS and UPSC exam coaching institutes. Several institutes, including KSG, received notices for failure to comply with honest disclosure norms. Most IAS coaching institutes showcase students who only took mock interviews in their success rate claims.
