Noida: Homebuyers of Greater Noida West held a protest march at the Ek Murti roundabout on Sunday, demanding metro connectivity.
The protesters said lakhs of flats have been sold in the area on the promise of a metro corridor, which has not been delivered for a decade now.
The protest follows the PMO’s rejection of the detailed project report (DPR), along with the proposed skywalk linking DMRC’s Sector 51 metro station with Noida NMRC’s Sector 52 metro station.A fresh DPR will be made now.
“The recent rejection of the DPR over an interchange shift by the Centre, despite years of careful planning and preparation, has undoubtedly left residents of Greater Noida West disheartened. This decision will definitely lead to further delay till the new DPR is prepared,” said Dinkar Pandey, a resident of Ajnara Homes in Sector 16B.
The protest was held under the banner of the New Era Flat Owners Association and the Noida Estate Flat Owners Main Association.
Residents now plan to hold a protest at Jantar Mantar on December 10 and meet Hardeep Puri, the Union minister of housing and urban affairs.
