Patna: Railways has cancelled at least 25 passenger trains and reduced the frequencies of 22 others in view of foggy weather from December 1 to March 2, 2024.
According to ECR’s chief public relations officer (CPRO) Birendra Kumar, the Prayagraj Rambag-Muzaffarpur Express (12537/12538) will be cancelled from December 4 to February 28 while Amritsar-Banmankhi Express (14617/14618) will not run from December 1 to February 29, he said.
The other cancelled trains include Ambala-Barauni Express (14523/14524) from December 2 to February 29, Anand Vihar–Sitamarhi Express (14005/14006) from December 1 to February 29, Amritsar-Jayanagar Express (14673/14674) from December 5 to February 29, Birangna Laxmibai Jhansi-Kolkata Express (24197/24198) from December 2 to February 25, New Delhi-Malda Town Express (14003/14004) from December 3 to March 2, Tata-Amritsar Express (18103/18104) from December 4 to March 1 and Amritsar–Jayanagar special (04651/04652) from December 1 to March 1.
Similarly, Kamakhya-Anand Vihar (15621/15622) will not run from December 7 to March 1 while Hatia-Anand Vihar (12873/12874) will be cancelled from December 4 to March 1. The other trains to remain cancelled are Santragachi-Anand Vihar (22857/22858) from December 4 to February 27 and Kamakhya-Ranchi (15661/15662) from December 5 to February 28, he said.
The frequencies of 22 passenger trains have been reduced while Howrah-Mathura ( 12177/12178) will remain short-terminated at Agra Cantt from December 1 to February 23, 2024.

The pilot, limited to 20,000 participants initially, was announced by the White House during PM Modi’s visit. Julie Stufft, deputy assistant secretary of state for visa services, stated that the demand for US visas in India is high, and they want to ensure quick visa appointments for Indian travellers. The domestic visa renewal program will issue 20,000 visas to foreign nationals already in the US, with a focus on Indian nationals. It will prevent the need for travel back to India for visa renewal.
