Kanpur: Under her ‘padyatra’ campaign mayor Pramila Pandey on Wednesday visited the chambers of advocates in Kanpur court and appealed to them to celebrate Ram Utsav in their homes and nearby temples on the occasion of the consecration ceremony of Ram Lala in Ayodhya on January 22.
The mayor said there is an atmosphere of celebration everywhere due to the consecration ceremony as the day is coming after 500 years of struggle, hence the city residents as well as all the lawyers should actively participate in the function.
The mayor’s ‘padyatra’ started from Shatabdi Gate and after passing through the Bar Association office ended at the Lawyers Gate.
Several advocates walked inside the court campus, welcomed the mayor and raised Jai Shri Ram slogans with her.

The run-up to the Ram Mandir consecration ceremony in Ayodhya began with rituals. Sculptor Arun Yogiraj and prominent saints participated in the ceremony.
