Prepare for Traffic Chaos on 200-feet Bypass | Jaipur News – Times of India

JAIPUR: Brace for more traffic snarls at the 200-feet Bypass crossing on Monday as National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) had closed all internal roads connecting the approach roads from Vaishali Nagar side and from the Mansarovar side towards 200-feet bypass. It means vehicles coming out from these roads have to take U-turn from 200-feet bypass.
“We are trying out new measures to ensure that traffic snarls on the national highway is minimum. In the mean time, we are trying to complete the construction work as soon as possible,” said a NHAI official.
NHAI and Jaipur traffic police have blocked all inlet roads connecting service lanes to the highway. “On Wednesday when we started diverting traffic through the service lanes several vehicles from the colonies adjacent to the service lanes started taking a wrong way and blocking the traffic on the service lane. We were accommodating a four-lane traffic into a barely two-lane service road. This is why we decided to block all the roads connecting the services lanes of the highway with the adjacent colonies,” an official said.
It means, now residents living in Kedia Nagar or the West Way Heights and Sakhsam Nagar JDA scheme – adjacent to the Ajmer-bound flank of the Highway – have to reach the Mansarovar-side road of the 200-feet bypass to go towards Jaipur.
Residents of Keshapura or Dhabas have to reach the Vaishali Nagar-side of 200-feet bypass to go towards Jaipur or reach the service road somewhere near the Mahapura crossing and take a right turn towards Ajmer.
This was already creating a bottle neck at the 200-feet bypass, but from Monday traffic from the Mansarovar and Vaishali Nagar side would add to the problem.
