Ludhiana: In the wake of the school bus crash in Haryana, which killed six students, fresh instructions have been issued by authorities to all CBSE-affiliated schools of the district. CBSE city coordinator A P Sharma said that the same is being issued to all Ludhiana schools. The Ludhiana Sahodaya School Complex (LSSC), a group of 40 CBSE-affiliated schools of Ludhiana, have also called a meeting on April 23 to discuss the issue.
CBSE city coordinator A P Sharma, principal of Kundan Vidya Mandir School, told TOI, “These kind of unfortunate cases may occur due to consumption of liquor and other cases may arise due to ill-health or disease of the driver, or over-speeding, which should be taken care of by the head of the school, transport department.School authorities should ensure that they get police verification and efficiency tests done periodically for all drivers. The school must have instruments like an alcohol detection meter to ensure that the driver has not consumed liquor.”
