Drivers of Palamu’s top officials allegedly rape woman near Daltonganj railway station | Ranchi News – Times of India

Two senior officials’ drivers have been arrested for allegedly raping a 32-year-old woman in Jharkhand‘s Palamu district. The incident took place on Thursday, and both the accused have been apprehended. The woman and the accused were taken to Medinirai Medical College and Hospital for a medical examination, as stated by the police.
The drivers involved in the alleged crime have been identified as Dharmendra Kumar, who works as a driver in the escort of Palamu Deputy Commissioner Shashi Ranjan, and Prakash Kumar, the driver at Palamu Superintendent of Police Reeshma Ramesan’s residence.
According to the Superintendent of Police, the incident occurred in the morning when the woman arrived at Daltonganj railway station and went to a mobile recharge shop where the two drivers were present.
The woman claims that she wanted to go to Medininagar for medical treatment. The drivers gained her trust and took her to a room near the railway station, where she alleges they raped her, as per her statement to the police.
The woman filed a complaint at the town police station, and the accused were arrested within two hours of her report.
The Superintendent of Police and Deputy Commissioner have assured that appropriate legal actions are being taken against the accused individuals.
