LUCKNOW: An FIR was registered on Saturday against an X user for posting objectionable remarks against Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
A case under IT act was registered at Hazratganj and with the investigation underway with the help of an IP address, to trace the accused, said police.
An X handle with @anarkaliofagra (Praiyanka Deshmukh) with over 6000 followers had recently posted a tweet in Hindi where she had written several objectionable lines while also using objectionable words indirectly on Yogi adityanath.The tweet in Hindi also hailed Lalu, Shahbhuddin and Raghuvansh Babu and called them national icons. The post also used objectionable language against another user Ankit Jain with his handle @indiantweeter.
Even though the Tweet was later deleted and the account was also suspended later. It immediately went viral on social media with netizens criticising and demanding action by tagging UP police and DG police official handles.
“Tweet deleted. @dgup and @Uppolice is there no respect for Maharaj ji? Why isn’t the police taking action against @anarkaliofagra,” said a user Ankit Jain who was also tagged in the post by posting the screenshot of the Tweet.
“Take cognizance and necessary legal action,” replied UP police X handle on the post by tagging Lucknow police X handle.
“Uppolice this lady @anarkaliofara, is not only abusing UP CM @myogiadityanath but she is also accusing your Police department of overseeing rapes and crimes in Pradesh. Strict action must be taken against her,” said another X user Voice of a Shudra.
SHO, Hazratganj, Vikram Singh, said that an FIR was registered and probe was being conducted, cyber cell was roped in to trace the accused.
