Thiruvananthapuram: The Vattiyoorkavu police are in search of a woman who cheated a man of Rs 2 lakh by offering him a job at the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
The police are on a hunt for Kattakada native Athira, 39, on the complaint of Riju S of Aruvikkara. It was learned that the accused faces similar charges in cases registered at Nemom police station as well.
“The woman showed me a stamp paper to prove that she managed to get a job for a person at RBI.I was offered a job as a driver and I gave her Rs 55,000 on April 17, 2022. After waiting for months, I did not get a job and I was about to register a case. However, she sought one more month to arrange the job. Later she sent me an appointment letter for May this year. Trusting her, I paid her Rs 50,000 more as I was hopeful of the Rs 35,000 per month salary through the job,” Riju said.
Riju got acquainted with the woman through a friend and the friend was also cheated by the woman. “We have registered a case under sections of IPC 406 of IPC for criminal breach of trust and 420 for cheating. The investigation has begun, and we are searching for her,” police said.

The orders will be given after the results for the combined civil services examination are released in December. The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission has installed a second computer laboratory to expedite the assessment process. The government has already distributed job orders to 13,000 people this year.
