Myanmar Army Aircraft Crash Lands at Mizoram’s Lengpui Airport, 4 Critical | Guwahati News – Times of India

GUWAHATI: A Myanmar army aircraft, with 14 crew members on board, crash landed at the tabletop runway at Mizoram’s Lengpui airport on Tuesday morning.
Four crew members are reported to have been critically injured and have been admitted a Lengpui hospital.

The aircraft had come to airlift the Myanmar army personnel in batches, who had fled the country fighting the rebels and taken shelter in Mizoram last week.
“All flights to Aizawl airport have been diverted after Myanmar military plane crash,” a Mizoram goernment official said, adding tnat aviation regulator DGCA has ordered investigation into the incident.
A total of 276 Myanmar army soldiers were brought to Aizawl to be taken home from the Lengpui airport. The Myanmar aircraft was scheduled to carry out several sorties to take the army men in batches.
Earlier last year 104 Myanmar army personnel were taken to border town of Moreh in Manipur from different places in Mizoram by Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopters, and then repatriated.
