Surat: New members of the core committee of the Surat Diamond Bourse (SDB) were appointed during a meeting held on Wednesday.
BJP Rajya Sabha MP Govind Dholakia was appointed the new chairman, and Lalji Patel of Dharmanandan Diamonds was appointed as vice-chairman.
The new committee members said their focus was on making at least 500 offices operational.SDB officials announced that the custom house, safe deposit vault and bank facility were now available in the bourse itself. Soon, SDB teams will start meeting various diamond trading associations in Surat and Mumbai. They will also discuss and try to understand the concerns of the office owners. tnn
