Jaipur: Mercury continued to take an upward swing across the state on Sunday and provided relief from shivering cold conditions. Alwar remained coldest in the state with a minimum temperature of 5.2 degrees Celsius. A rise of almost 5 degrees Celsius was witnessed on average across the state.
Attributing the rise in mercury to active upper air cyclonic circulation and western disturbances, the Met office said that a slight dip in the mercury is expected in the next couple of days.
People in Jaipur woke up to a comparatively warmer morning with a minimum temperature of 12.5 degrees Celsius. It was followed by an afternoon with a maximum temperature of 25 degrees Celsius. Also, mild clouds were witnessed. On Monday as the cloud cover will vanish, mercury is likely to take a dip. “There is a possibility of a dip of almost 3 degrees Celsius on average in both minimum and maximum temperature in Jaipur on Monday,” said an officer with the Met office Jaipur.
Fog was witnessed at Sriganganagar and Hanumangarh districts which are close to Punjab. Alwar was followed by Sangariya where a minimum temperature of 6.2 Celsius was recorded.
