LUCKNOW: After facing debacle in the assembly elections in four states, the results of which were announced on Sunday, BSP president Mayawati termed the results as ‘strange’ and called a national level meeting of party leaders in Lucknow on December 10 to take stock of the ground situation and start the preparations for LS elections 2024 afresh.
Mayawati said that the ‘Ambedkarwadi’ movement would never run out of steam and would continue to move ahead. In a series of posts on social media on Monday, Mayawati said: “It is natural for everyone to be left stunned, worried and doubtful of the one-sided results of the assembly elections, which have favoured only one party.” She termed the results as “strange and difficult for people to understand”.
“During the entire election period, it was a very different atmosphere, where it seemed that there would be a close contest, but the results were one-sided which is such a mystery. This is a matter of serious concern and there is a need to find solution. There are discussions on failure to read people’s pulse,” she said.
“The BSP contested the elections with full might, which made the fight interesting. The cadre should not be disappointed with the strange results,” she said, adding that the party leaders and workers should draw inspiration from the struggles of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar and keep moving ahead.
