Kanpur: Riders club won the first Mukta Malviya Memorial Cricket tournament, defeating Superior Spirit club by 4 wickets in the final held here at Palika Stadium on Thursday.
Put into bat first, Superior Spirit club scored 109 runs in 26.4 overs. Dhananjay Yadav contributed 43 runs. Ram Singh bagged 3 wickets. Riders club hit 110 runs for loss of six wickets.Nikhil Yadav and Dhairya Pandey chipped in 25 and 24 runs, respectively. Nishkarsh and Vaibhav Shukla scalped two wickets each.
After the final tie, chief guest Sanjeev Dixit director JMD group gave away prizes to winner and runners up teams. Dhananjay Yadav and Pramod Patil of Superior Spirit club were adjudged best batsman and bowler, respectively. Piyush Tiwari gave them prizes. Mohammad Saif Ahsan of Riders club was declared all-rounder and rewarded. Kaushal Kumar secretary KCA welcomed the chief guest and Anil Rawat conducted the programme.

Sharma cricket: Olympic Regd and KDMA club will clash in the final of First Ajay Sharma Memorial T-20 cricket tournament being played here at Kanpur South ground on Friday.
In the first semi-final, Olympic Regd outplayed host Kanpur South club by 38 runs. Batting first, they collected 198 runs for the loss of four wickets in 20 overs. Thereafter, they wrapped the innings of Kanpur South on 160 runs.
In another semi-final, KDMA humbled Rovers club by 22 runs. Batting first KDMA collected 181 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. Thereafter, they restricted Rovers club’s innings on 5 for 159 in Sri plated 20 overs.
