Patna: Two lovebirds died by jumping before a speeding train in Samastipur district as their families did not allow them to get married. The police recovered their mutilated bodies from the railway tracks on Friday morning and sent them for postmortem.
Police said 20-year-old Manish Kumar and 18-year-old Bholi Kumari, both residents of Kapparpati village under Kalyanpur police station, loved each other and wanted to lead a married life. But their parents were against their relationship.
The girl’s family even fixed her marriage with a boy of Darbhanga district and their wedding was to be solemnized shortly after Chhath festival. That probably prompted them to take the extreme step.
On Thursday night, they went missing from their homes after which their families launched extensive searches, but failed to locate them.
