Jaisalmer: DST and Pachpadra police of Balotra district, in a joint action, caught a truck full of illegal liquor on Friday. Truck driver was arrested and 430 cartons of illegal liquor made in Punjab were recovered. The cartons were being transported hidden under vegetables. Their estimated price is around Rs 56 lakh. Interrogation with driver revealed that the liquor was to be supplied in Gujarat. Balotra SP Harishanker said that they got a tip-off that a truck loaded with illicit liquor was passing through mega highway. Police set up a blockade and began checking vehicles. During this time, a truck carrying vegetables was stopped and searched. Cartons of liquor were found stacked under vegetables. tnn
