Prayagraj: In an important decision, authorities of Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission have made a major change in their policy in filling up posts of group-II (gazetted).
It has decided that from now on, for final selection, merit will be decided on the basis of marks that candidates secure in both screening testand interview. “Out of 100% of the weightage, 75% will be based on the marks scored in the screening test. The rest 25% of weightage will be based on the marks secured in the interview,” an official said.
Moreover, screening will be made mandatory for recruitment of all group-II posts (barring few). There will two members who will conduct the interview and an equal number of experts while selecting the candidate for the post. Currently, while recruitment of group-II gazetted posts, the commission sometimes takes the screening test (when the number of candidates is more) while many times, direct interviews are done.
