Nagpur: Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) leader Prakash Ambedkar on Friday said his party would win at least six Lok Sabha (LS) seats on its own if the alliance with Maha Vikas Aghadi does not materialize. He said his outfit can contest 46 out of 48 LS seats in Maharashtra as his party has presence in all the constituencies.
“I can even reveal the names of all the 46 candidates identified by us at this moment.I have requested the MVA constituents to ensure social engineering by allotting minimum 15% tickets to the OBC candidates, even to minorities like Muslims, Christians and Jains. We will not compromise on this aspect or support dynasty politics,” he said.
Ambedkar stressed that parties that have gone through a split should not demand more seats beyond their existing strength. “We will stay till the last minute for favourable seat sharing with MVA partners as per these conditions,” he told the media during his visit to oversee poll preparations in the city.
While refusing to divulge names of the six seats which he claimed VBA has already bagged, Ambedkar reiterated that he would be contesting the Akola seat. “We have a vote bank of over 2.5 lakh in majority of the constituencies,” he said.
Ambedkar said Nagpur Metro is not earning profit even after four years. “As per some reports, the loss-making Metro services would be shifted to the civic body,” he said.
