Gurgaon: Residents woke up to a clear and sunny morning on Thursday. The minimum temperature rose to 9.1 degrees Celsius from 8.9 degrees recorded on Wednesday.
The maximum temperature was logged at 24.2 degrees Celsius. According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), the mercury level will not see a significant change during the next two days.
The minimum temperature will be around 10 degrees over the weekend and may rise by 2 to 3 degrees thereafter.IMD also predicted cloudy sky, rain and thunderstorms from next week.
“A western disturbance is likely to affect western Himalayan region from Feb 17, due to which light to moderate rain is expected at isolated places for the next three days. The spell is likely to be accompanied with thunderstorm or lightning and gusty winds at 45-50kmph on Feb 18. Some regions might witness hailstorms too,” an IMD official said.
According to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), “The predominant surface wind is likely to come from northwest direction at 4-12kmph. The sky will mainly be clear with mist or shallow fog during the morning.”
The city’s air quality index (AQI) remained ‘poor’ at 204 on Thursday, compared to 293 on Wednesday.
