Hyderabad: Excise sleuths on Tuesday seized 1.2 crore worth of black jaggery stocked up in cold storage at Koheda and Patelguda, suspecting that it is being stocked up for making illicit liquor. Nearly 30 tonne of black jaggery has been seized.
Rangareddy assistant commissioner A Chandraiah said that searches were conducted on Vaishnavi Cold Storage, Koheda and Chepuri Cold Storage, Patelguda and eight and 22 tonne of black jaggery was seized respectively.Based on the confession of gudumba sellers that the jaggery was stocked up in cold storage, the sleuths conducted the searches.
