In a significant stride toward the monumental Rs 400 crore mark, fervent admirers of ‘Thalapathy’ have been bestowed with a riveting revelation concerning the luminary’s forthcoming cinematic venture, a revelation bound to elevate their enthusiasm to soaring heights.
Steered by the adept Venkat Prabhu, renowned for his magnum opuses such as Mankatha, Goa, Saroja, Chennai 600028, and Maanaadu, the opus has been tentatively christened Thalapathy 68, and the creators unveiled its inaugural rites video on Tuesday, coinciding with the propitious occasion of Dasara.
The footage also divulged the identities of the film’s gifted ensemble and crew. In tandem with ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay, the cinematic extravaganza showcases the talents of Sneha, Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Laila, Yogi Babu, VTV Ganesh, Jayaram, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Mohan, and Ajmal Amir in pivotal portrayals. Furthermore, Venkat Prabhu’s recurrent associates, including Vaibhav Reddy, Premgi Amaren, Aravind Akash, and Ajay Raj, are poised to enact pivotal roles.
The musical symphony adorning the opus is masterfully orchestrated by Yuvan Shankar Raja, while Siddhartha Nuni lends his virtuosity to the cinematography. Rajeevan, Venkat Raajen, and Dhilip Subbarayan are at the helm of production design, editing, and stunt choreography, respectively. AGS Entertainment spearheads the financial backing of this project, marking the twelfth magnum opus under the directorial baton of Venkat Prabhu.

The cinematic endeavor embarked on its cinematic journey on October 2. The director, in acknowledging the momentous occasion on social media, remarked, “And it commences!! #Thalapathy68 with all your affection and benedictions!!! Vijay himself heralded the inception of this endeavor in May of this year, sharing a 78-second montage that featured the nomenclature of the eminent technicians associated with this cinematic opus.
In September, Venkat Prabhu had unveiled a couple of stills from the sets of the opus. The visuals unveiled that the creators had harnessed the marvel of technology known as the Light Stage, a tool instrumental in capturing digital facsimiles of the subject.
